Documenting the happy first days of bringing home baby Penelope.

Quiet, peaceful, and happy is how I would describe my time with this sweet family of three. It’s really special to bring home a new little one, and the change is felt in the air and through the home. Time kind of stands still, the world outside doesn’t seem to exist, and contentment and overwhelm somehow exist perfectly and constantly together.
Penelope was such an easy little one to photograph. I love that we were able to get photos of her both awake and asleep, and even some shots of a quick little bottle feed. Her nursery was glowing in the afternoon light, and I loved all of the white, light pinks, and subtle nods to vintage Disney decor. The decor throughout this home made for the perfect backdrop for photos. So many great little pockets of light.
When I first arrived I noticed how much I loved the quaint dining room, and I asked if we could grab a few photos there. It was an unconventional ask, but I’m so thankful that these two trusted my vision and we went for it! We were able to use so many places throughout the home, partly because there were so many good lighting options and partly because Penelope was being such a champ – we were able to fly right through so many spots and poses. We ended up with a gallery with so much love, connection, and variety!
