Sweet baby Thomas is joined by his parents and grandparents in this multi-generational newborn session in Lafayette, Indiana.

It wasn’t until after came home after some time spent in the NICU that his parents realized they wanted newborn photos. They reached out with the new realization that life is fragile and time moves so quickly, they wanted these special photos as keepsakes forever. What was even more special was that baby Thomas’ grandparents were Stateside, visiting from Brazil, and would be included in the photos.

Perhaps my favorite part of this session was the kindness that this family expressed the entire time I was there. It’s not lost on me that it can be awkward and a little nerve wrecking to invite a total stranger into your home to take your photos, of all things. But this family was so patient and up for whatever poses or places around the home I wanted to take them.

Another highlight from this session was the adorable custom 2-month birthday cake. I can tell celebrations and marking important moments will be a big part of this family’s life, and I think Thomas is so luck to be in such a loving, thoughtful, beautiful family!
